I finally did it!

Read Harry Potter that is.
After much pressure from Matthew, I finally succumbed and read the first book.
I was pleasantly surprised.  It is indeed well written and a good storyline.  The real pressure came because he wants to watch the movie.  We plan to on Friday night.
Now I am off to start book #2.

Celebrate Summer 2011 - LOAD512: Day20

Today's prompt was Sketchy Sunday - take a sketch and alter it in some way.  I am still away and had this one set up to work on.  This was started about 2 years ago at our LSS and has been sitting around waiting for photos and journaling.  I did alter the way the photos were planned so it actually fits the prompt.

The journaling reads:
"We had an amazing summer.  We made a huge bucket list of activities to do.  We didn’t get to all of them but we sure had a fun time trying.  Here are a few things we did do: Boating with Holjak’s | Indoor golf game | Big bubbles | Matt had over 50 baseball games or practices | Hikes through the woods behind ***** | Two-week trip to Thunder Bay | Cierra to **** Camp; ice cream cones and swinging | Pandamania Summer Camp at church | Hiking at the **** | Daycare days with Jones kids and Carter | and more...! "

Favourite Photo Friday

Welcome to Favourite Photo Friday!

Who: Marlee
When: February 2012
Where: Home

Even though the photo is a bit blurry it is one of my favourites.  Marlee had just received this dress from a friend and immediately had to have a fashion show.  Complete to the shoes.  SO typical.  Her clothing style is starting to change - less miss matched items (still the odd socks) but she is really liking to get girly.  She doesn't find it practical for school and prefers leggings and pants but it is interesting watching her style evolve.  She also loves getting her hair done - the buns were courtesy of Ya-Ya.

Mitchell 6 months - LOAD512 - Day7

Today's prompt was a Manic Monday - 30 minute day. I was able to do this layout in 30 minutes. I did a layout for each month showing Mitchell's growth during his first year. Somehow I missed a few months so I am finishing them up now.

Via Flickr:
Now that we are coming up on our 15th wedding anniversary I figured it was time to actually finish our mini wedding album.

This is following the Simple Scrapbooks Make a wedding album design.
I've had bits and pieces of pages done, journaling left and general assembly. I'm hoping that I can do a few pages each night and complete it - FINALLY!

Favourite Photo Friday

Ahhh I was so creative with the first....Matty in a pot and later Matty in a bucket...

Back for Favourite Photo Friday.
Who: Matthew; aged 6 months
When: May 18, 2003
Where: In front of our house

Number 2 and 3 do not have such creative poses.  In fact we were just realizing that number three's last professional photo was taken when he was 6 months old.  Oops, somehow We've let THAT happen.  Well in reality this just applies to professional photos.  I think he has more photos than the other two since he is all digital.
Anyway, I digress.  I love this photo because it reminds of an Anne Geddes photo.  Matt was so agreeable and content. He was at just the right age.  He is just cute!

Lordy Lordy!

Look who's Forty!

It seems we've been waiting for this day for quite a while.  It is a big year for us.  Drew finally turned forty today.  We celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in August and I turn 40 in September.  But hah - Drew is the first to celebrate!

I'd love to present a wonderful photo collage of Drew's last 40 years but unfortunately we have only a few photos of his earlier years.  I obviously need to do a bit of scanning of what we do have.  I have also lost all of the tagged photos of him so to go back through the years is a bit more of a task than I can do right now.  But I will share a few...

Here we have one of the youngest photos we have.  Isn't he sweet?

Ahh the teenage years.  One day there may be a whole post on those days.  I was certainly privileged to know him since grade 9.
Here we have his alter ego Dougie - present in the early days of our marriage.
I am happy to report that he has really grown since then.
And most recently (again, I need to take more photos of him in action), Drew as an amazing dad.

Happy birthday Drew!  We are so happy with who you have become. You are a great husband, father, son, brother, coworker, boss - you name it.  We hope you had a great day.  We are sorry that you didn't get the boat you wanted, but hope you enjoyed your day otherwise.
We love you restless one! :)

Pieces of Me - LOAD512: Day2

I've had this one in the to do pile for a while - actually with Matthew's word, which are now quite outdated. This goes with the prompt of no photo and somewhat with yesterdays self-portrait. TFL!

our artist {Marlee} - LOAD512 - Day1

Another LOAD has begun! If you click on the photo you can get the info and sources in flickr.

I decided not to go with the prompt today (using a self portrait) as it usually takes me a day or so to get it wrapped around my brain - that and I am not organized enough to pull it all together.
